Introduction

While they all have top-class classical music training and careers, INDIGO's are all fond of pop, rock and latino singing, and they enjoy using this cross influence in their shows, with or without staging.

INDIGO is a cocktail of lyrics, music and instruments where voices have a central role. INDIGO is about musical, poetic journeys tainted with humour using subtle and original arrangements.
 

INDIGO's are Frédéric Lair, singer and writer, Gilles Safaru, singer, guitarist and composer, Pascal Gourgand, singer and writer, Christophe Rocher, singer, guitarist, writer and composer, Vérène Westphal, singer, cellist, pianist and composer, Alain Miraucourt, singer, guitarist and percussionnist.
 
 
 

1987 : Creation of the group INDIGO and recording of a first album (STIL label).
1990 : Second recording with OMD: QUINTET A VOIX.
1991 : INDIGO performs for two weeks at the Théâtre de Dix Heures in Paris.
Then comes a French tour, including the Printemps de Bourges and the MIDEM. After touring until October 92, INDIGO comes back to Paris to perform for two weeks at the Passage du Nord-Ouest and confirm the previous year's success.
In July 1993, INDIGO signs with AUVIDIS  and creates its third recording FURIOSO with Philippe Delletrez, who has worked with Charles Trénet and Les Innocents. This album coincides with the creation of a new show staged with Ana Yepes.

Nomination for the Victoires de la Musique 1995.

January 1997, after three years of touring, including South America, INDIGO comes back with a new album titled CARNETS DE VOL (Buda Musique) and a new show where known titles from J. Brel, Sting, E. Mitchell..., alternate with personal compositions.

 
September 1997: Inauguration of the Stade de France lawn.
September 1999: Special creation for Arièle Butaux's radio program's opening jingle, Un Mardi Idéal on France Musiques.
July 2000: new show at the Festival d’Avignon: PARADES, staged by Stefan Druet. Lights by Cilia Trocmée.
January 2001: New album PARADES (Sergent Major).
January to March 2001: PARADES – Auditorium St Germain-des-Prés in Paris
May and June 2001: South-East Asia tour (Malaysia, Burma, Singapore, Indonesia, China, Japan ...)
July 2001 to August 2002: Tour in France and Europe
October 2002: PARADES – Auditorium St Germain-des-Prés in Paris
Then tour in France, Germany, Turkey …
January to May 2004: New album with Créon Music and new show CLASSIXTIES, staged by Anne-Marie Gros and Jean-Marie Lecoq at the Théâtre Trévise (Paris), then on tour in 2005 and 2006 in France and Europe. Lights by Cilia Trocmée.

In 2007 : Premieres of LOVE BAZAAR, made exclusively of creations, at the Théâtre du Gymnase, 13 January to 5 February. Lights: Cilia Trocmée.
